12 Minute Easy Baked Salmon

12 Minute Easy Baked Salmon

This is the easiest and most foolproof way to cook salmon!

Jump To Recipe

This is the easiest recipe for cooking salmon! Just preheat your oven to 400F. Pat your salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Place the salmon fillets skin side down on a baking sheet that has been sprayed with oil or lined with parchment paper. I like to spray my baking sheet with a little oil even when I use parchment paper. That holds the paper in place.

Now spray the salmon with oil. Next season the salmon with fresh herbs: garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper. It is fine to use dried spices instead. Drizzle with lemon juice and bake for 12 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145F. The salmon will be perfectly cooked and moist, and it’s a great source of heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids.

To make this recipe even easier, you can use frozen salmon fillets. Just thaw them in the refrigerator overnight, or under cold running water for about 10 minutes. Then, pat them dry with paper towels and proceed with the recipe.

This baked salmon recipe is also very versatile. You can season the salmon with salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs and spices. Or, you can try one of these delicious variations:

  • Lemon and dill salmon: Sprinkle the salmon with lemon juice, dill, salt, and pepper.
  • Garlic and herb salmon: Mince some garlic cloves and mix them with olive oil, salt, pepper, and your favorite herbs. Brush the mixture over the salmon fillets.
  • Soy ginger salmon: Mix together soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Brush the mixture over the salmon fillets.

No matter how you season it, 12-Minute Baked Salmon is a delicious and healthy meal that you can make in no time! Here are some additional tips for cooking salmon:

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the salmon is cooked to 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • If you’re using frozen salmon, cook it for an additional 2-3 minutes per inch of thickness.
  • Don’t overcook the salmon, or it will become dry and tough.
  • Serve the salmon with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, rice, pasta or quinoa.
