Hey everyone, if you’re looking for the best meatloaf recipe ever then look no further! This meatloaf is sure to be a hit at your next family gathering. I will show you how to make it and why it’s so special.

It’s easy to make and always turns out great – even better than my mom’s! Classic Meatloaf Recipes have been around for many years, but they can still be improved upon.  For example:  My Moma always used tomato sauce and ketchup in her meatloaf.  These are ingredients you will usually see in the classic meatloaf.  I’m going to give you a new amazing recipe with my secret ingredients, that are easy to make and turns out great – even better than my Moma’s.

The first step in making not my meatloaf is preparing the ingredients. You’ll need ground pork, ground beef, bacon, breadcrumbs, eggs, onion, garlic, oregano, red pepper, fennel, cardamom, cinnamon, flat leaf parsley, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and milk. Mix all of these ingredients together in a large bowl until everything is well blended.

Once the mixture is ready, shape it into a loaf-like shape in your baking pan.

Bake the meatloaf in a preheated 350 degree oven for about an hour or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees Fahrenheit on an instant-read thermometer. Once done cooking let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing into thick slices and serving hot with your favorite sides such as mashed potatoes or green beans.

Best Meatloaf Recipe

Serves: 6
½ lb. ground veal
½ lb. ground pork
½ lb. ground beef
1 oz. fat back or bacon, chopped
2 oz. prosciutto, finely chopped (optional)

4 slices stale white bread, crumbled
1 ½ tsp. oregano
1 tsp. crushed red pepper
1 ½ tsp. fennel seeds
1 tsp. ground cardamom
1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
½ cup flat leaf parsley, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. salt
2 large eggs, beaten
¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
¼ cup whole milk

Using a large bowl, combine the meats, bread and spices, mixing well. In a small bowl beat the eggs, milk and cheese. Add the wet mixture to the meat mixture and mix well. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan or 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Form the mixture into a loaf and place into the baking pan. Bake for 1 hour or until the center reaches 160 degrees. Allow to rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving with brown gravy.
