This delicious baked bean recipe was passed down to Brenda from her dear friend Janice.
4 slices bacon, diced
1/3 cup onion, chopped
2 (1 lb.) cans pork & beans
¼ cup molasses
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup catsup
¼ tsp. dry mustard
Fry bacon in skillet. Sauté’ onion in bacon grease. Remove bacon and onion to a saucepan. Add beans, mixing in molasses, brown sugar, catsup and dry mustard. This can be served after being heated through. But it is better if simmered in a crock-pot for 2 hours or baked in a 300 degree oven for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
