Start with a large pot and add 2 tbsp. of olive oil.  Let that heat up to medium high.  Add 1 lb. Of ground turkey   Break it up into smaller pieces as it browns.

Next you will want to add 3/4 cup of chopped carrots.  Then add your  large onion that you have chopped.  You are going to cook these until they are tender. Now we need to add our garlic.  I don’t have any fresh garlic so I am going to use two teaspoons of garlic powder.  If you have fresh garlic use one to two cloves finely chopped.

Then add 1 teaspoon of salt.   1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper.  Add one 14.5 oz can of chopped tomatoes.  I almost forgot the chicken broth.  You will need 1 cup of the broth.  Then I like to add Better Than Bouillon, beef flavor. I use 1 tablespoon.   It is optional.

Then add your 2 to 3 potatoes that have been chopped.  Sometimes I choose not to peel my potatoes.  Your choice.

Now stir those in and let them cook until they are close to tender.  It will be about 10 minutes.  Now mix 1 cup of cold water and 2 tbsp. of flour to make a slurry.  We will use this to thicken our mixture.

Now add a cup of frozen green peas.  I am using field peas.  Either are delicious.  Let those cook for about 5 minutes.

Now be sure and preheat your oven to 375F.   Next I get my baking dish ready by spraying it with oil.  Then I dip  my mixture into the dish.

You will need a can of biscuits.  Place these into the mixture.  I sometimes choose to cut the biscuits into fourths so the dumplings are better spread into the mixture.

Put a cover on your dish and bake for 20 minutes at 375F.  Then remove the cover and bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the dumplings  are cooked.

The casserole is ready!  Look how yummy it looks.  This is a great comfort food. Delicious!

This recipe is perfect for a quick and easy weeknight meal. It is also a great dish to make for a crowd. Simply double or triple the recipe and serve it in a large casserole dish.

You can also add your own personal touches to this recipe. For example, you could add different vegetables to the skillet, such as mushrooms, peas, or corn. You could also add different spices to the ground turkey mixture, such as Italian seasoning or chili powder.

No matter how you make it, ground turkey dumpling casserole is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
