I’m going to show you how to make my famous New York Strip Steak and Red Wine Sauce. This is a simple but delicious recipe that is perfect for a special occasion.  The steak is cooked to perfection and the sauce is rich and flavorful. This dish is sure to impress your guests.

The steak is made from a cut of beef called the New York Strip, which is known for its tenderness and flavor.  It is cut from the short loin of the cow and is one of the most popular cuts of steak. The steak is typically grilled or pan-fried and is served with a variety of sides.  Today we are going to pan fry our steak.  But first we will marinate it in my special sauce.

Mix in a container with a tight lid, 2 cloves of chopped garlic, 4 tbsp. olive oil, ¼ cup dry red wine, 1 tbsp. miso paste, salt and pepper and 5 sprigs of fresh thyme.  Add the steaks to the marinade turning several times and piercing with a fork.  Seal and let the steaks marinate in the refrigerator for 8 hours.

Now it’s time to cook the steaks. Remove the steaks from the marinade and pat dry. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the skillet is hot, add the oil and butter. This will add to the flavor of the steaks. The oil will prevent the butter from burning. Now add the steaks and brown on each side sealing in the flavor.

Then continue to cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are cooked to your desired doneness.  Rare internal temperature 125F/52C  Medium 145F/63C  Well Done 160F/71C  Once the steaks are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest in a warm place for a few minutes before slicing.

While the steaks are resting, we can make the sauce. In the same saucepan, add the marinade and cook over medium heat. Stirring the bits from the bottom.

Pour the sauce over the steaks and serve immediately. And that’s how you make my famous New York Strip Steak. The steak is tender and flavorful, and the sauce is rich and decadent. This dish is sure to impress your guests.  Enjoy!
