Today my friends came over to play pinochle and then stay for dinner. I knew my dish needed to be one I could mostly prepare ahead of time. So I chose Miso Chicken and Rice Salad Bowl. I made up the Miso sauce for painting on the chicken tenders and stored in the refrigerator. Then I made my Thai dressing which can stay at room temperature. I washed my lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber in my vinegar water solution. Then tore my lettuce into pieces, cut my tomatoes in half and sliced my cucumber. I put these into the refrigerator for later. I next measured out my rice and rinsed it. I placed my rice in the cooking pan with the measuring cup for the water sitting next to it. I placed racks on my baking sheet for broiling the chicken tenders. Now I am ready to cook my rice and chicken and serve my ingredients for the bowl.
