Baking these crispy pork chops provides a result of a delicious and satisfying dish. The miso marinade gives the pork chops a deep, savory flavor that is balanced by the sweetness of the pecans. The crust is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and it adds a delicious nutty flavor to the pork chops.

These pork chops are easy to make and can be cooked in the oven or on the stovetop. They’re sure to become a new favorite!

In a small bowl, whisk together the miso paste, soy sauce, maple syrup and ginger.

Place the pork chops in a reseal able bag or container and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag or container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Remove the pork chops from the marinade. In a small bowl, combine the pecans, flour, and breadcrumbs. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper. Dip the pork chops in the pecan mixture, coating both sides evenly.

Place the pork chops on an oiled baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes, or until cooked through with an internal temperature of 145F/63C.  Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Tips:

  • For a richer flavor, use dark miso paste.
  • If you don’t have time to marinate the pork chops, you can cook them without marinating, but they won’t be as flavorful.
  • You can also cook the pork chops on the stovetop. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and cook the pork chops for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
  • Serve the pork chops with your favorite sides, such as rice, roasted vegetables, or mashed potatoes.
  • If you don’t have pecans, you can use walnuts or almonds instead.
