This ain’t your typical cordon bleu, folks! We’re ditchin’ the breading and deep-frying for a layered casserole goodness that’s easy on the cleanup and big on flavor.

Imagine layers of succulent chicken, savory country ham, and gooey mustard cheese sauce, and topped with a golden, buttery crust. It’s a symphony of textures and tastes that’ll have you singin’ hallelujah with every bite. And the best part? This casserole is perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks – it’s easy to prep, feeds a crowd, and leftovers are a dream come true.

So whether you’re a seasoned cook or a kitchen newbie, this recipe is your ticket to a Southern comfort food fiesta!

Start by preheating your oven to 350F and grease a casserole dish.

Peel your potatoes and thinly slice. Layer the potatoes in the bottom of the casserole. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper.

Now pat your chicken dry and lay on top of the potatoes.

In a medium sized bowl add two tablespoons of flour and one package of Boursin Garlic and Herb Cheese. Mix the cheese, mustard and flour. Then slowly add the half and half mixing until the cheese is broken into small pieces.

Pour the mixture over the chicken in the casserole. Then lay your country ham on top of the chicken.

Next sprinkle the top with parmesan cheese. Then mix your melted butter with your breadcrumbs and spread across the top of the casserole.

Cover with a lid or aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes or until chicken reaches 165F internal temperature. Remove the lid and bake until golden brown and bubbly.

Let cool slightly, then serve with your favorite sides!

Bonus tips:

  • Add some broccoli flowerettes to the sauce for extra flavor and nutrients.
  • Make it ahead of time and warm it up when you’re ready to eat.
